Ontario (Canada) Liquor and Beer Stores To Close At 6pm Daily

lcbo-620x264In an effort to curb deaths due to drunk driving even more after a steady decrease in the last two decades, the province of Ontario (Canada) will be shutting down its liquor and beer stores promptly at 6:00pm daily.

As of August 1, 2016 all Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) and Molson and Labatt beer stores will start closing early.

As expected, many in Ontario are not very happy with the decision, feeling 6pm is too early, maybe 7pm would be more acceptable.

According to Globalhotnews.com, residents have begun a letter/email campaign.

“The dangers of drunk driving are immense. Alcohol impairs your judgment, reaction time and perception. The LCBO has certainly seen the results of drinking and driving and are taking more precautions towards safer roads.” said Robert Peters, CEO of LCBO.
