OTTAWA (The Lapine) \u2014 Prime Minister Stephen Harper told a fundraiser last night that he is giving serious thought to buying \u201ca half dozen or maybe a dozen\u201d nuclear bombs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey would be solely for defensive purposes but will send a message to terrorists and my fellow global leaders that you don\u2019t mess with Canada,\u201d said Harper to enthusiastic response from the business audience.<\/p>\n

Conservative MPs were taken by surprise by the announcement but one Minister told the Toronto Star off the record that he suspected the PM \u201cwas up to something. Steve gets almost secretive\u2026in a good way\u2026when he\u2019s about to drop a bombshell. He\u2019s a lovable goof really.\u201d<\/p>\n

Liberal leader Justin Trudeau called the move \u201cmacho-man madness\u201d while NDP leader Thomas Mulcair mostly just yelled swear words at reporters.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only way to stop a bad guy with a nuclear missile is with a good guy with a nuclear missile,\u201d said Harper to loud applause.<\/p>\n
