<\/a>VATICAN ENQUIRER (Elpeji.com) SAN JOSE \u2014 Costa Ricans everywhere will hold a moment of silence today to honor the exit of popular Unitedstatesian restaurant Wendy\u2019s after the hamburger franchise up and abandoned the Central American country, leaving behind a trail of tears and unrealized Bahhhconator orders.<\/p>\n
Almost overnight, all 10 Wendy\u2019s locations, known locally as \u201cGuendy\u2019s,\u201d shuttered doors and tore down images of the the restaurant\u2019s iconic red-headed, freckled heroine. The restaurant\u2019s sudden departure, which caused civil unrest and what came to be known as the \u201cFrosty riots\u201d throughout San Jose, will be honored with three days of luto, or mournful remembrance, President Luis Guillermo Solis, an avid Homestyle Chicken Filet fan, announced last night.<\/p>\n

He has woken up every night since the closure, screaming \u201cGuuuendyyy\u201d in his sleep, his wife said.<\/p>\n

Tom\u00e1s was referring to the restaurant Carl\u2019s Jr., known locally at Carlo\u2019s Yunyor, which chewed into Guendy\u2019s clientele and profit margins since coming to Costa Rica in 2011. Carlo\u2019s Yunyor, famed for guaranteeing you will feel like shit after you eat there, has become a giant hit with Ticos, Tom\u00e1s said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know why anyone would want a Mile High Bahcon Cheeseburger from there. We use the metric system here anyway, mae,\u201d Tom\u00e1s said. \u201cPlus, anything called a Jalapeno Thickburger is destined to result in violent caca, mae.\u201d<\/p>\n
