The VATICAN ENQUIRER – Encouraged by the find of water on Mars, in an ambitious project,and with the help of the country’s former astronaut, Franklin Chang, Costa Rica’s water utility is making plans to travel to the Red Planet, extract and pipe the water back home.<\/p>\n

It all sounds like science fiction, but the head of the Instituto Costarricense de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA) assures that she has read all the books, seen all the movies and even played the video games to understand the challenges of going to Mars, getting the water and bring it back to Costa Rica.<\/p>\n

“The desire is to send a team of specialists to Mars to explore the possibilities, in order to continue to maintain domestic demand for drinking water,” said the chief.<\/p>\n

The Vatican Enquirer consulted with three experts on the future missions to Mars and the feasibility of the AyA project. Alfredo Montealegre, director of space program at the University of Costa Rica (UCR) said besides water, we have to see if there are conditions for Costa Ricans to survive in the Martian environment. “The increase of oxygen in the Martian atmosphere is one of the essential conditions for life and one of the tasks to be solved for Costa Rica to colonize the planet.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
