Reports are coming in that Comandante Daniel Ortega, Presidente of Nicaragua and leader of the Sandinista National Liberation Front (Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional, FSLN), has fled to Cuba.
Fearing the pending overthrow of his government and possible to get away from his wife, who is also the country’s’ vice-president and the real power behind the power couple, Presidente Daniel decided to take refuge in a country that has always welcome him, where he has friends in the highest of places.
Presidente Daniel was one of Fidel Castro’s great friends. And of Castro’s brother, Raul.
Presidente Daniel, in the 1970s, received training in guerrilla warfare from Fidel Castro’s Marxist-Leninist government, while plotting the Nicaraguan revolution that resulted in the overthrow and exile of his predecessor.
Sources close to the Vatican Enquirer confirmed that the Nicaraguan leader traveled alone.
Arriving in a commercial flight of the low-cost airline, Volaris, Presidente Daniel was met at Havana’s international airport by non-other, now private citizen and friend, Raul Castro.
The two were said to have ridden together from the airport in a late model car to a posh Havana neighbourhood where cameras are prohibited from taking pictures and cars from stopping or driving at low speeds.
The source reports that Presidente Daniel used the letter to congratulate Cuba’s new president, Miguel Díaz-Canel,with a hidden a message to friend Raul of his pending arrival to the island.
